The Rescue Inn, Inc. (“TRI”) is an Ohio non-profit, foster-based rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of dogs in need.
We are a (501(c)(3) organization run by a dedicated group of volunteers who are passionate about our four-legged friends. Our mission is to save dogs from high kill shelters and abuse/neglect situations and place those animals into loving and permanent homes.
We promote responsible animal ownership and provide medical treatment, foster care and training to unwanted, abandoned, lost or surrendered animals. It takes a village to save a dog and to support that dog on its journey to finding a permanent, loving home.

The TRI process
The Rescue Inn is a foster-based rescue, which means we do not have a traditional physical location. Our dogs stay with loving foster families who provide the animals with care and training until the right permanent adopter is found. All of the “residents” at the Inn are located in foster homes throughout the greater Cleveland, Ohio area. Please contact the adoption consultant listed for each dog or contact the Inn for more information on setting up a visit with one of our adoptables.
Providing Dedicated Foster Care and Medical Support
Our animals are spayed/neutered, receive appropriate veterinary care and are placed into a safe, secure foster home while waiting for their permanent family.
Vetting Received:
- Basic age-appropriate shots (DHPP or DHLPP, Rabies, Bordetella)
- Spay/Neuter
- Fecal/Worming
- Microchipping
- Heartworm test and prevention
- Flea prevention,
- Other medical treatment as needed
Partnering with Local Shelters to Save Lives
We also strive to work with other area shelters and rescues to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to enhance our rescue mission. TRI is dedicated to rescuing dogs from puppy mills, owner surrenders, and local shelters, ensuring every animal receives full medical care before finding their permanent home.
