The Rescue Inn, Inc. (“TRI”) is an Ohio non-profit, foster-based rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of dogs in need.  





We are a (501(c)(3) organization run by a dedicated group of volunteers who are passionate about our four-legged friends. Our mission is to save dogs from high kill shelters and abuse/neglect situations and place those animals into loving and permanent homes. 





We promote responsible animal ownership and provide medical treatment, foster care and training to unwanted, abandoned, lost or surrendered animals.  It takes a village to save a dog and to support that dog on its journey to finding a permanent, loving home.

The TRI process















The Rescue Inn is a foster-based rescue, which means we do not have a traditional physical location.  Our dogs stay with loving foster families who provide the animals with love and training until the right permanent adopter is found.  All of the “residents” at the Inn are located in foster homes throughout the greater Cleveland, Ohio area.  Please contact the adoption consultant listed for each dog, or contact the Inn for more information on setting up a visit with one of our adoptables.



















Providing Dedicated Foster Care and Medical Support





Our animals are spayed/neutered, receive appropriate veterinary care and are placed into a safe, secure foster home while waiting for their permanent family. 





Vetting Received:

Partnering with Local Shelters to Save Lives





We also strive to work with other area shelters and rescues to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to enhance our rescue mission.  TRI is dedicated to rescuing dogs from puppy mills, owner surrenders, and local shelters, ensuring every animal receives full medical care before finding their permanent home.

Completion of this form does not guarantee adoption of one of our dogs.  TRI adopts dogs out based on best fit.  You must meet the following criteria to be eligible to adopt one of our loving dogs:  





Be 18 years of age or older.





Have identification showing your current address.





If you rent, be able to provide a written letter of consent from your landlord that you are allowed to adopt a dog (letter must specifically state weight and breed of dog).





Be able and willing to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and proper care for your dog.

I understand that as a result of my involvement in viewing, handling or otherwise having contact with dogs of TRI or other animals, I may be exposed to certain risks, including but not limited to bites, scratches, infections or other injuries related to the viewing, handling, contacting and proximity to animals.  By my signature below, I voluntarily agree to assume and/or incur all risks of loss, impairment, damage or injury of whatever kind, including death, that may be sustained or suffered in connection with my involvement with TRI whether or not due to, in whole or in part, the acts, omissions, negligence or other fault of TRI.





I am aware that the behavior of animals, especially shelter and rescue animals, may be unpredictable.  I am aware that, although TRI makes every effort to ensure the safety of persons coming into contact with our animals, TRI cannot guarantee my safety in viewing, handling or otherwise having contact with TRI animals or other animals.  In addition, TRI cannot guarantee the safety of my other pets in the presence of TRI animals or other animals.





I, the above signed, have read this waiver and release and understand all of its terms, and I execute it voluntarily and with full knowledge of its significance.
